VB Tutorial: 5 Ways to Repurpose Outdated VBPlanner Pages
Hello VB Fam!

I can’t believe that we are in the second half of the year! As an avid planner, this is usually the time of year when I reevaluate my current planner system to determine if the planner choices I made at the beginning of the year are working for me. This year, I added the VBPlanners to my planner lineup. I can say that this layout is perfect for my planning needs, and, for the first time in years, I’m sticking with my current planner system. That being said, now is a great time to add a VBPlanner to your planner lineup. There is a great sale on 2022 VBPlanners over on the VillabeauTIFFul website. You may be asking why I am suggesting that you get a 2022 planner in August? Well, I’ve got five great ideas you can use to repurpose the parts of the planner that are outdated and still have several months to take you into 2023! So grab your favorite VBPen (of course) and notepad, and let’s dive in!

1. Create a Portable Weekly Schedule
My weekly schedule is pretty consistent except for a few events or tasks that pop up here and there. I decided to create a master schedule that I can move from week to week in my planner. That way, I don’t have to record the same things over and over again. To start, the first thing I did was use the Oceania VBKit washi to cover the days of the week. 
The transparent tape has an abstract pattern, so there is no need for white-out. Next, I added a few box stickers and headers to the left side of the page, making sure to cover the monthly calendar. My box wasn’t quite tall enough, so I added another strip of washi tape to the top of the page.

After those pieces were in place, I added the silver timed clear tape to the weekly pages. Then, I used some silver box stickers to add the day of the week for each column.
All I had to do was to add my daily routine to each day. Now, I have a completely portable weekly schedule that I can move each week.


 

2. Listers Gotta List


I love making lists! The next planner insert I created was a page filled with lists. I only used washi tape and box stickers to create this cute layout. I laid the Oceania thin washi across the top of the page to cover the dates and laid box stickers all along the top of the two pages.

To cover the monthly calendar, I used a medium box sticker. Last, I created a title for my page and added categories for the different lists that I wanted to create. I think it would be a great idea to create a notebook dedicated to list-making!

3. 30-Day Challenge 


I love participating in 30-Day challenges. I usually find them on Pinterest or Instagram. It’s a fun way to hold myself accountable for tasks that are important but may take a back seat during the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are several planners on Instagram that create monthly challenges, and that’s a great way to engage with others in the planner community. One way to keep track of the challenges is to use the monthly calendar. Here I took the January 2022 monthly page and used a washi sticker strip and box stickers to cover the header.
To cover the holidays throughout the month, I used some small stickers that also serve as deco. 
Next, I found a fun challenge and added a task to each day. I think this would make a great section to add to the back of my planner. Reusing outdated planner pages would give me seven spreads that I could use more than once. 

4. Currently Page


I love the idea of having a currently page each month. I decided to transform the old monthly task pages to capture the small everyday moments of life. With a few box stickers, this was such a simple spread. I started with one of the thin washi stickers from the Oceania sticker book. I cut it so that it would fit over the words. Then, I added a box sticker to cover the monthly header. Next, I used box stickers to cover the other headings on the page. The last thing to do was to add the topics that I wanted to document. These pages will allow me to look back and see how my interests change from month to month.

5. Birthday/Anniversary Tracker


I don’t know about you, but I am horrible when it comes to remembering birthdays and anniversaries! Creating a birthday tracker on the weekly pages is a great way to have all the important birthday information on one page. I started by laying down box stickers to cover the days of the week.

I used the thin washi to separate the columns into two sections to make space for all of the months of the year. I also added a vertical strip of washi on the right page to create a space for anniversaries since there are less of them for me to keep track of. This layout has plenty of room to list out the person’s name and date under each month. 
Next, I added monthly stickers and a few other word stickers to identify the different sections on my page. 
Now, I had to think a little harder about the space at the bottom of the pages. I decided that I could use this space to jot down gift ideas. I wanted to be able to change this as needed, so I used the full box sticky notes to make this section interactive. I titled this section “To Buy,” making it easy to write down gift ideas. I love that if I change my mind, I can just replace the sticky note instead of having scratch through or white out entries.
