VB Tutorial: Self Care Journal
Hey Villa Babes!

I love the all the creativity happening in the planner community using the micro Happy Planner. For me, I don't find it to be the right size for planning, so I used this month's villabeauTIFFul kit to set it up as a self care journal instead.

What you will need:
  • villabeauTIFFul kit
  • Index cards
  • Tape runner
  • Happy Planner punch

Now the first thing I had to do was set up my cover. With the gorgeous paper from this month's VB kit and the journaling cards, that was pretty easy. I traced the cover the planner originally came with and then cut it out with scissors. Then I layered a journaling card and a heart punch to make the border and put it on the paper with a tape runner. Last - punch the cover with the Happy Planner punch.
On the inside cover, I inserted the small adhesive pocket from this month's VB kit.
The journaling cards that come with the VB kit are sized perfectly to make section dividers. You don't need to cut them at all - just punch and insert.  I also used the clear plastic envelope that the VB kit comes in. I cut out a small piece to the right size and then punched it. I love the way it looks layered in the journal.
A few of the sections I created in my journal are: affirmations, weekly self care tracker, journal prompts, areas I want to focus on, and then a large journaling section.  Pinterest is a great place to get ideas for creating your sections.

I used index cards for my pages. I cut them down to size and punched them to fit the discs. Index cards are easy to find, inexpensive, and easy to cut. Then I decorated the cards with items from the VB kit like the washi (love this clear washi overlay) and items from the sticker book.
I also took the sticky notepad from the VB kit and stuck two pages back to back to create a page. Since this part sticks out, I am on the hunt for a quote to write on this page.
I cannot wait to start filling up this journal! Thanks for reading!
