VB Tutorial: Tabbed Pocket Folder
Hola VB Amigos,

One of my favorite things to add to my planners has always been incorporating more pockets. You can never have too many pockets and in today's tutorial I will be showing you how you can add a folder with pockets and a cute tab to guide you straight to the folder. 

Items you will be needing:
Papers from the VBKit
Washi from the VBKit
Paper Trimmer or Scissors
Laminator
Lamination Sheets
Xacto Knife
Bone Folder
Hole Punch 
Mat Grid

I chose to use the vellum sheet with the beautiful floral print and I will be using measurements for an A6 size planner. I would suggest using an insert according to your planner size to adjust measurements.
You will need to cut the sheets into 4 pieces: 2- 5 ½ by 3 ½ and 2- 3 by 3 ½  for pockets.
Next you will make a double sided washi strip which will be used as a tab at a later step. The strip will be measured at the length of the folder which is 5 ½ inches. 
Once you have your pieces all cut up you want to take your mat grid or some type of a straight measuring tool to line up your pieces onto a laminating sheet.  
At this point you need to have your sheet open with plenty of space on both sides. Line up the sheets on a straight angle with the design facing down and layer your pockets on top with the designs facing up. The washi strip will be laid next to the first sheet as shown in the picture and you want to have a 1 inch space in between. 
Once this step is done close up your lamination sheet and run it through your laminator. Be careful that the sheets do not move inside. 

After you have run it through your laminator machine, cut the top edge of your pockets - this will create an opening for your pocket.
The next step will be scoring the sheet using a bone folder and your trimmer. Score right at the edge of your washi strip, that is where the fold will be for your folder. 

Trim off the top/bottom edges leaving ¼ of space, then trim off the ends left/right leaving 1 inch of space.
This is what the folder should look like at this point (see image above).

Now you can also punch holes on the edge for your ring planner. 
Now the top folder can be snipped from the punch holes so you can open and close the folder while in your planner. 
The last step is to trim the washi from top to bottom and leave space for the tab edge. Do not cut the washi all the way through. See image below. 
You now have your tab and it's ready to be inserted into your planner. 
Not an easy project but sure is fun to do and the outcome is so satisfying. You now have a cute insert with pockets for your stickers, sticky notes, or whatever you need to place in your pockets.
