VB Tutorial: Using VB Paper Packs in Larger Planners

Hi friends! After opening the July VBKit, Fashionista, I knew that I needed to add the papers into my planner right away, but with my A5 FoxyFix, the papers are just the slightest bit too small to fit without revealing the fold in the papers. (The VBKit Paper Packs come folded in half) I loved these patterns so much, and I was determined to find a way to use them and make them work in my planner, so I did!

What you will need:

Fashionista VBKit Papers
Washi Tape
Hole Punch (Sized to fit your planner)
Fiskars Paper Trimmer
Slice tool/exacto knife
Laminator (optional)
Laminating Pouches (optional)

Step 1: Grab your favorite pattern from the Fashionista paper pack and trim it down to fit your planner size!

(TIP: Don’t just cut the paper a little bit past the fold. I trimmed both sides, so that the fold was further away from the edge. This will make it look more polished at the end!)
Step 2: Grab any washi, solid or patterned! I used a solid foiled washi because I did not want to take anything away from the patterns. Lay your washi down along the fold, ensuring that most of it is covered.
Step 3: Time to get creative! Play around with the washi and make any design you want! I made a rectangle to act as a border for this pattern.

Step 4: Use any slice tool or exacto knife and trim off the excess washi tape and make sure the edges are crisp. Be careful not to use too much pressure because you do not want to cut through the paper, only the washi!
Step 5: This part is optional! I wanted to make sure the washi tape stayed put in my planner, so I decided to laminate each design.

(Another tip: smooth out the laminating sheet with a card, a ruler, or your fingers to prevent bubbling around the washi!)
Step 6: Trim off the excess laminate to fit the size of your planner.
Step 7: Hole punch your new dashboard and add it to your planner!
Step 8: I had so much fun creating this first one that I couldn’t stop at just one, so I made three!
I hope this inspires you and gives you some ideas on using your favorite VBKit papers in any size planner!
